Akan tetapi, hal tersebut tidaklah sulit bagi\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">Dr. Chitra Shegar. H<\/span><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">al tersebut diungkapkannya ketika memberikan materi tentang kiat-kiat mengajar\u00a0<em>reading<\/em>\u00a0dalam\u00a0<\/span>International English Linguistics and Literature Conference (ELITE), bertajuk &#8220;The Multifaceted Dimensions of Linguistics and Literature,&#8221;<span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">\u00a026-27 November 2013.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">Dosen yang mengajar di Nanyang Technological University Singapore tersebut menjelaskan secara panjang lebar tentang bagaimana mengajar\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">reading<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">\u00a0dengan baik, agar mudah dipahami oleh peserta didik. Menurutnya, ada beberapa komponen yang harus dipahami oleh seorang guru ataupun dosen. Seperti\u00a0<\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">reading accross curiculum, word recognition, vocabulary instruction, knowledge of discourse structure, extreme reading, interest in reading, comprehension instruction, practice fluency,<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">\u00a0serta<\/span><em style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">\u00a0reading assesment.\u201dIt can be used for curiculum to make the reading process success and to be a good reader,\u201d<\/em><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\">\u00a0jelasnya.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Selain tiu, dosen yang juga menjadi asisten profesor ini juga menjelaskan tentang manfaat\u00a0<em>reading<\/em>\u00a0itu sendiri. Banyak pelajaran yang akan diperoleh jika sesorang sudah memahami cara mengajar atau belajar reading, seperti halnya bahasa Inggris, menurutnya kita juga bisa belajar banyak pelajaran bahasa Inggris lainnya.<em>\u201dWe also can learn Discourse, Syntax, or Semantics,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0tambahnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Tak lupa pula, dosen yang akrab disapa Sheegar ini juga menyebutkan beberapa kesalahan-kesalahan dalam mengajar\u00a0<em>reading.\u201dThere are some common short falls done by the lectures such as word recognition skills, vocabulary instruction, practice in reading skills, and also practice in reading fluency,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0paparnya.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Dengan penjelasan tersebut Sheegar berharap para guru dan dosen yang hadir bisa menerapkannya di institusi yang mereka tempati.<em>\u201dHopefully, we can understand more about the way how to teach reading and apply it in the class,\u201d<\/em>\u00a0harapnya kepada para peserta.
