The English Literature Study Program was established by the Faculty of Humanities, Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University of Malang, based on the Decree of the Minister of National Education No. 811/D/T/2003 dated April 16, 2003. According to the decision of the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT) No. 016/BAN-PT/Ak-XV/S1/VI/2012, the program received an “A” accreditation rating under the name English Literature Study Program.
The purpose of establishing this study program is to prepare and produce human resources with broad knowledge and professionalism in the field of English language and literature, which has become increasingly important in today’s global era. Through an educational approach that integrates a deep mastery of religious knowledge with the development of linguistic and literary studies, graduates of the English Literature Study Program are expected to possess both academic excellence and professionalism in their field, as well as spiritual depth and noble character.

GRADUATE PROFILE
Graduates of the English Literature Study Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang are expected to become experts and/or practitioners in English language and literature who possess both academic and religious integrity. They should be able to apply their knowledge and skills in relevant fields while adhering to scientific thinking and keeping pace with the development of science and technology. Therefore, the main graduate profiles include language researchers, literary critics, English language/literature consultants, English language/literature instructors (educators), translators, tour guides, and journalists.
